GOOD SHEPHERD PS YARNING CIRCLE
Good Shepherd Catholic School was awarded a grant towards creating a Yarning Circle for the school, a teaching and learning space for everyday classes and a space for discussion and sharing of cultural stories. The school consulted with Ken Hayward, a leader in Aboriginal Community Engagement during the development of the concept design.
Sustainably sourced hardwood timber was used throughout the project, with flat top logs and rocks positioned around a central focal point.
NBP installed 6 totem posts which will be painted to depict the 6 Noongar seasons and QR codes installed linking to educational resources on the seasons that the children can access for learning. There will also be seasonal native plants added on each mound to enclose the space
