HILTON PS YARNING CIRCLE
Client: Hilton Primary school
Dates: June 2021
Outcomes: School Yarning Circle
The Hilton PS P&C approached NBP to help them upgrade their yarning circle area. Working closely with the school, NBP designed a yarning circle integrating elements of the old circle into the design. Along with cultural carvings, the construction of the nature-based elements were completed by NBP and the school through a busy bee and finished off with plantings, mulching and stone work.
The Hilton Primary School students painted the totem poles of the 6 Noongar seasons, and the new circle was officially celebrated on 19 Nov 21 with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony.
The finished space is a special location for kids and adults to sit, laugh, ponder, ‘yarn’ and share stories.
