McCALLUM PARK DAGLISH

NBP partnered with the City of Subiaco to reimagine McCallum Park, turning it from a conventional playground into an innovative natural play space.

The redesign features a humpback climber that offers various heights and challenges, promoting free climbing for all skill levels. Nearby, children can enjoy a balance log and a perch deck that includes a slide. Natural discovery is fostered through carved top logs, encouraging kids to explore and connect with nature.

The playground also includes a log abacus for interactive play and a classic swing with standard and toddler seat. We’re excited to watch children immerse themselves in this new, free play environment.

Nature Based Play believes that, especially in the context of Nature Play, there is much to be gained from pursuing a deeper understanding of the cultural, spiritual and educational practices of First Nations peoples.

Our offices and workshop are located on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, though our work takes us all across the State. As such we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work throughout Western Australia.
