Ocean Road PS had an area of the school grounds with a curving low wall running through it, featuring a rainwater tank and planter boxes, but generally underutilised as a play space. 

The redesign by NBP incorporates the winding wall and existing trees and planters into an engaging space blending natural elements into new nature play opportunities. 

The central feature is a humpback calf climber, a unique structure to ‘hang out’ on, while a nearby hex swing set provides both swinging and climbing activities with sturdy wharf rope. A rock mound with carved water channels next to the water tank creates a dedicated water play area. A cubby building frame and teepee cubby inspire imaginative play and add cosy, sheltered spots for the kids to explore and enjoy.
